Twitter boils over as Martin Odegaard laces a free-kick for Arsenal against Burnley

Martin Odegaard’s freekick was the key moment of Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday night.

The match-winning goal for Arsenal will be long talked about by fans and pundits alike, with the 22-year-old’s strike clinching all three points for Mikel Arteta’s men at Turf Moor.

Arsenal started off the 2021-22 season with three successive defeats, two of which were against Chelsea and Manchester City. However, after consecutive wins against Norwich City and Burnley, the Gunners are back on the right track.

Martin Odegaard proves doubters wrong with spearing free-kick

Martin Odegaard’s free-kick goal against Burnley, his first since completing a permanent move from Real Madrid last month, has helped Arsenal move to the 12th spot in the Premier League table.

The Norwegian’s 30th-minute tester was too good for Burnley keeper Nick Pope as the ball curled over the wall and flew into the back of the net.

When Odegaard joined Arsenal permanently in the summer transfer window, some fans thought that the club might have made the wrong move in choosing him over James Maddison, who is regarded as one of the best talents in England.

Those doubts have certainly been put to rest now as Odegaard showed his mettle with a stunning free-kick to get Arsenal over the line.
