Who Are the Women Accusing Thomas Partey of Rape and Sexual Assault?

Thomas Partey

As former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey prepares to face court on August 5, 2025, charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, public focus is beginning to shift toward the women whose allegations have propelled the case forward.

While the identities of the three official complainants are protected by UK law, some have courageously spoken out in the past.

Among them is Moroccan model and influencer Sara Bella, who in 2022 accused Partey of raping her during a trip to Ibiza.

Her relationship with Partey ended after a failed marriage proposal, and she later posted screenshots of messages and voice notes that she said supported her claims.

Though initially dismissed as part of a social media spat, her allegations formed part of the police’s wider investigation.

Another woman, Chaurntae, came forward in 2023 via a detailed series of tweets.

In her thread, she accused Partey of sexual misconduct and claimed she approached Arsenal directly for help.

According to her, club executives failed to act and allegedly attempted to silence her, prioritizing the club’s image over her safety.

While it remains unconfirmed whether she is among the three complainants behind the charges, her story echoes the growing public scrutiny around football institutions’ response to abuse allegations.

The other two women at the center of the criminal charges have not identified themselves publicly.

According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the charges involve two counts of rape against one womanthree counts against another, and a single count of sexual assault involving a third.

The Metropolitan Police emphasized they are continuing to support all three women throughout the legal process.

Public advocacy has also played a role in shaping the narrative.

2024 Change.org petition, backed by fans and activists, demanded Partey’s suspension and praised the accusers’ courage. Posts on social media platform X have amplified anonymous survivor accounts, indicating that at least one accuser may have shared her story online under the veil of anonymity.

As the case moves forward, these women remain central—not just to the trial, but to the wider reckoning within professional sport about how power, silence, and institutional neglect intersect when serious allegations are raised.
