Mikel Arteta has had a very interesting at Arsenal since returned to the club as their new manager in late 2019, replacing Unai Emery. He was tasked with the mission of rebuilding the team and pushing them to success, which was considered a great start when he won the 2019/20 FA Cup, giving fans a lot of hope.
Furthermore, the former Manchester City assistant had a couple of difficult full seasons at first, oftentimes finishing almost mid-table. This is something that played a huge role with fans, especially when Arteta started to have issues with stars from the previous regime, such as Mesut Ozil and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
It was a difficult period for Arteta, with the pressure being higher than ever for him, but he managed to pull through and rebuild the squad, with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli becoming some of the names that represented this new Arsenal. Signings such as Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, William Saliba, and others have become the new symbols of the institution, pushing the club to finish in second place a couple of times in a row, including last season.
This has come with a new challenge, though, which is the fact that Arsenal need to win the league and just challenging is not going to be enough. This is the context where Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera arrives, having signed from Valencia for a fee to be believed 13 million pounds.
Arsenal fans are eager to see what happens with Mosquera during the official matches, but Valencia fans recently got angry with Arteta because he was suggesting Mosquera’s brother, Yulian Andres, to sign for the club already since, according to the manager, he is a very good player as well.

It is very likely that Arteta only meant this as a joke, but there is no denying that this has put a spotlight on Julian. According to rumors on X, Valencia aren’t happy with the comments by the Arsenal manager. This could be for a variety of reasons.
The first one being that the player’s parents have stated that they are happy staying where they are. The second being that the younger Mosquera sibling is 14 years old and players cannot go abroad until they are at least 16 years of age. There is also a slight concern since the player has gone on record saying he would like to play with his older brother at some point.

“Coming here is a chance to keep learning and improving,” Mosquera said on the Arsenal website. “I’ll be working with great players and a top-class coaching staff, so that will help me develop personally. I’m a player with a lot of energy. I’m young, so I still have plenty to give. I’m fully motivated and excited. Above all, I want to improve, which will create competition within the squad. I’m really happy.”
Arsenal fans are going to be eager to see the young Spanish defender in action and hope that he can be one of the many positive contributions for the club’s success this season.
