For any seasoned Fantasy Premier League (FPL) manager, the game is more than just picking players who score goals and keep clean sheets. It’s also a battle of wits in the transfer market, where every £0.1m can be the difference between a winning team and a bust. Player prices act like a stock market, fluctuating based on supply and demand. In FPL terms, this means a player’s value will rise or fall based on the number of managers transferring them in or out.

Given its Gameweek 1 a lot of newer managers will have kneejerk reactions and start making new transfers based on just one week of data. Here are the current price rises as of 18/08/2025.
Price Risers! 📈 (3) #FPL
— FPL Status (@FPLStatus) August 18, 2025
🟢 Semenyo #BOU £7.1m
🟢 Ekitiké #LIV £8.6m
🟢 Reijnders #MCI £5.6m
There are currently no price decreases as of yet but based on the number of people transferring out Wirtz and Gvardiol, their price could drop.
Most players in Gameweek 1 have set their team to fit the budget of exactly £100 Million. With the price increase someone who wants to switch Anderson to Reijnders simply cannot due to him being £0.1 Million more. Unless your team is in a dreadful condition, it is better to save your transfers until the international break after Gameweek 3.
