Footballers exhanging shirts at full-time is a novel part of the game. Many footballers are renowned for possessing unique shirt collections, and it is seen as a matter of pride and respect in the footballing community.

Dominic Solanke also has an enviable collection of football shirts, and the photo of his shirt collection has grabbed the attention of many football fans. The photo, where the Spurs talisman sits at the top with a Heung-min Son jersey, showcases a variety of shirts of many famous footballers that Solanke has played with or against, and has managed to collect over the years. However, there’s a glaring absence of Arsenal shirts in his collection. And fans, as hawk-eyed as they are, have noticed it without fail.

The Spurs striker has a fashionable hobby of collecting various collectibles, with an Instagram account wholly dedicated to showing his collections, from trading cards to anime statues. One look at the top-down photo of his collection, shared on his personal Instagram – which has also been reposted by the official Premier League page, showcases his shirt collection in all glittering glory, with him captioning it as, “My shirt collection from some of the opponents I’ve faced throughout my career so far⚽️.”
Fans were decidedly surprised to not see a single Arsenal shirt in the mix. Ironically, the Spurs frontman, who scored 16 goals in all competitions for Spurs in his debut year last season, 9 out of them coming in the Premier League, used to be an Arsenal fan in his childhood, as he said in an interview for BBC Match of the Day in 2024.

Taking his loyalty to his new club, Tottenham, bitter rivals of North London neighbours Arsenal, Solanke’s shirt collection is no doubt a humour-trigger for PL fandoms. His collection includes some interesting names, including many of his former club, Liverpool’s players like Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohammad Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, as well as his Bournemouth teammate and current Liverpool fullback Milos Kerkez. The collection also involves other famous names from rival clubs, like Manchester United, a club he has an affinity for scoring against, with shirts from Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Joshua Zirkzee on display.
Solanke’s interesting hobbies have made him a popular face in anime and trade-card fandoms, but it is his shirt collection that is understandably generating the most buzz. With 30 shirts neatly packed in rows of 6, with Heung-min Son’s iconic No. 7 jersey at the top, Solanke has a lot to be proud of. The photo also encases mutual respect that the 27-year-old Englishman shares for the South Korean superstar.

Heung-min Son’s decade-long journey at Spurs ended after the South Korean left for MLS side LAFC this season, having capped off his remarkable career with an Europa League title win against Man United.
Solanke, who started his professional career from Chelsea’s famous youth setup, was touted as one of the biggest striker prospects in England in his growing years. After struggling in Liverpool, he had a smashing return to form at Bournemouth, with Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs nabbing him at the start of last season amidst heavy competition from rivals.
Since then, his personality as an avid collector of memorabilia has come to the forefront, showcasing the inner lives and hobbies of footballers who we only tend to notice when they play on our television screens.
Reckon he might have done that deliberately because he plays for you. Guy probably has a ton of arsenal shirts he loves 🤣

But regardless of it all, Arsenal fans are still displeased about him, with some joking that he hid all the Arsenal shirts he had while growing up, as a defence against fans of the club he currently plays for.
Maybe the Tottenham Hotspur striker does have a lot of Arsenal shirts, but we reckon we won’t be seeing them anytime soon.
