EA decided to shake things up a bit for the walkout animation, it is most likely tied with the Ballon d’Or award ceremony that took place a few days ago.
EA Sports FC 26 has taken pack opening animations to an entirely new level of sophistication, literally dressing up promotional card walkouts in formal attire complete with suits and elegant dresses. With one fan stating online “That’s actually class“

FC 26’s Cornerstone promo now features players making their grand entrance dressed to the nines in sharp business suits, flowing evening gowns, and other formal wear. With fans stating “Seeing Palmer walk out in a three-piece suit is something I never knew I needed.” It is definitely a unique animation and something we have not seen EA try.
However, it is definitely an odd time to release this feature, with it being more befitting to release this during TOTY. Hopefully this is for just this promo as this would become quite annoying after a while.
We also see players who are not walkouts (players below 86 rating) get an animation as part of the cornerstones promo which is the first promo for FC 26. It’s hoped that EA will continue to add these unique, fun details to future Promo cards. This would give them a much needed special touch and distinctive feel, preventing them from having the same generic animation as a regular Gold card.

Not everyone is thrilled with the sartorial shift. Traditional fans have expressed concern that the formal attire detracts from the football authenticity they expect from the game. “I want to pack Zubimendi the footballer, not Zubimendi the investment banker,” one Twitter user complained, echoing a sentiment shared by purists who prefer their football stars in sporting attire.

Some even complained that EA decided to spend resources on a feature that most will probably not care about rather than fixing the game. However i think it is a nice nod to the Ballon d’Or ceremony, well the purpose of these things is to get people talking about the game and their new promo and they have certainly achieved that. In the end all press is good press.
