Fulham has been dealt a defensive blow with the news that centre back Joachim Andersen is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury. The Danish international was forced off during the recent Premier League clash against Arsenal, leaving his club manager Marco Silva with a gap to fill in the heart of the defence. The Danish CB had played more PL minutes than any other Fulham player this season and was a reliable player and Defcon machine for FPL managers averaging 11.4 contributions per 90. Following the match where Andersen sustained the injury, Fulham boss Marco Silva confirmed that the defender has a muscle injury, which is understood to be a hamstring issue and later confirmed it was not that serious.
There is a chance he is in contention for a start against Wolves and him not being included for the Newcastle game is just precaution. We have 3 Gameweeks of FPL before we head for the international break again. Given he is just £4.5m, i would personally hold him and look at other players to target. However if you have 4 or 5 transfers, it would be better to ship him out for a better performing defender as he as only delivered one return above 4 points so far, earning just 3.75 points per match. Here are a few replacements you can look at for your FPL teams.
Jurrien Timber(£6.0m): He has displaced Ben White from the RB position and has arguably become the best RB in the world. Apart from the first match, he has played 60+ mins in every match and seems to be safe from rotation. Arsenal have not conceded a goal in their last 4 games.
Arsenal's defenders have scored more goals (5) than they've conceded (3) in all competitions this season, the fewest from Europe's top five leagues.

Daniel Munoz (£5.6m): A slightly more expensive option, but a fantastic attacking full back, currently the only fullback delivering attacking returns this season in the prem. He ranks among the top defenders for shots in the box and is a key set piece threat. Great option from GW10 onwards however you may need to bench him as Arsenal away is not a great entry point.
No Premier League fullback has a higher rating than Daniel Muñoz this season (7.38). 🇨🇴🌟 pic.twitter.com/2i91tszpA3

Marcos Senesi(£5.0m): The fourth highest points scorer among defenders. It seems like Iraola has worked wonders, despite them selling their entire backline and keeper they have still managed to be defensively solid this season. Senesi is another Defcon machine and a great long term hold despite having Man City and Villa in his next 3.
Dan Burn(£5.1m): Newcastle have recorded a league high five clean sheets everyone has been talking about Arsenal but the Magpies have been defensively solid too. Burn is a nailed on starter as he can play at LB and CB if needed and is a massive threat from set pieces.
Nordi Mukiele(£4.1m): Should you want to save money look no further than Mukiele. He is in excellent form, last week achieving a massive 17 point haul in Gameweek 8 against Wolves awarding managers who went for a Bench Boost, i was one of them and could not be happier. Sunderland’s defence has been surprisingly strong, keeping 4 clean sheets this season and having one of the best defensive records in the league, conceding only 6 goals.. He has only also hit Defcon in all but 1 match for Sunderland and is a great pick for your fifth choice defender.
