Are Chelsea Going To Announce Oracle as Front of Shirt Sponsor Next? Here’s What We Know

Chelsea Football Club has struggled with securing a long term FOS (Front of Shirt) sponsor since Todd Boehly’s became the owner after Roman Abramovich’s 19 year reign.

During the Abramovich era, the Blues had three main FOS sponsors ranging from ‘Fly Emirates’ (2001-2005), ‘Samsung’ (2005-2015), ‘Yokohama Tyres’ (2015-2020) and ‘Three UK’ (2020-2023).

The West Londoners had brief spells with companies like ‘Infinite Athlete’ and ‘Damac’ for the latter halves of the 23/24 and 24/25 seasons respectively.

During the final stages of the 24/25 season, there were growing speculations towards the next long-term FOS sponsor for Chelsea for the next campaign. 

The initial plan was to secure a sponsor before the FIFA Club World Cup, which the Blues took part in and won, earning them the ‘World Champions’ title.

They have, as of yet, failed to land a long-term FOS sponsor deal, the second-most valuable item in a club’s sponsorship inventory after kit deals.

They have missed out on figures over £120 million due to a lack of FOS sponsors across the past two seasons, the sum is equivalent to any club’s total earnings from a Champions League campaign reaching the knockout stages across two seasons, in a worst case scenario.

As you can see from the graphic below, Chelsea earned the least amount of money from sponsors out of the traditional Big 6 last season.

The 25/26 Season

As of now, Enzo Maresca’s team sits without an FOS sponsor, but recently a new candidate has emerged to be on the brink of agreeing a sponsorship deal with the Blues.

Oracle, is a US-based multinational software giant and one of the world’s most valuable companies, with its publicly traded shares currently valued at roughly £470 billion.

Oracle recently partnered up with FPT, an IT firm who interestingly became the sleeve sponsor for the Blues just a few weeks ago.

The blue-chip software giants were founded by Larry Ellison in 1977, and at the time of writing, Ellison is worth around an astounding £210 billion, making him the second richest person in the world. 

According to reports, the deal is expected to last until the end of the current 25/26 campaign with Oracle paying significantly less than what Chelsea initially expected. [via football finance expert Lukasz Baczek on X]

How the Kits will look

The current trio of new Chelsea kits feature a classic Blue Home Kit, a White Away Kit and a special T90 Black Third Kit inspired by the designs of the early 2000s.

All Chelsea kits for the next 4 years, including this season’s, are equipped with a special gold coloured ‘World Champions’ crest assigned by FIFA, for winning the Club World Cup earlier this summer.

After the awkward middle central positioning of the World Champions badge was re-aligned to be centred a little higher up than previously seen, due to it being bigger than the actual Chelsea logo, the opened up space in the middle part of the shirt allows the FOS sponsor to fit perfectly.

It’s natural that this design will take some getting used to by fans and rivals alike as we are more used to seeing the Blues more without an FOS sponsor than seeing them with one.
