Nick Woltemade Explains His Unusual Living Arrangement in Newcastle

Newcastle United, Nick Woltemade

Footballers find some struggles in adapting to the lifestyle when they move to a different league away from their home. Beyond language, culture plays a major role in how they could lead their life comfortable. Newcastle’s summer signing target man Nick Woltemade has seeped in swiftly since his arrival and shared his secret to a cozy life at Tyneside.

The German peter Crouch, made his big breakthrough move to the Premier League in late August 2025 for a transfer fee of 75 million in euros. By becoming the second expensive transfer in Newcastle’s history below Alexander Isak, he was technically the replacement for Isak upfront in the attack as the striker moved to defending champions Liverpool.

Nick Woltemade had made some justice to the price tag bagging 5 goals and an assist in 12 games so far. But off field Woltemade has made himself some company to roam around the streets of Tyneside. Woltemade returned to Germany for their UCL game against Leverkusen and had given off a thing or two about his social life in his new environment as part of a pre match interview before the clash.

Asked about his private life and relationship status, Woltemade confirmed that he is single and is living along with his best friend from Germany. “We are very good buddies and have always said for fun, if i move abroad, we will go there together. We both don’t have a girlfriend. So we are quite free” Woltemade revealed.

Woltemade moved in to Newcastle with his friend silasteinwedel, a companion since his early days and told the media they stay in the same apartment. But was quite funny the way he revealed as he could not find the right word “Shared apartment” in English for staying together. The german word for shared apartment “Wohngemeinschaft” (WG) created quite a funny fuss during the interview where the English reporters misunderstood the word as “WeGay” but later jokingly clarified it is something about staying together with your best friend in the same apartment.

Woltemade is no nonsense in letting anything hinder his football. He has had a lot of games because of which he has not met any female friends in Tyneside.

Fans have found ways to troll him for his friendship but some of them genuinely appreciate his quality of living the dream life with his best lads. Others pointed out the reporters making an unwanted intrusion into the personal choices of the player

Woltemade has proved that he is unlike any bundesliga flop that fail in the Premier league bought at inflated transfer fees. Over the course of the season, he is expected to increase the numbers and hopefully finds a girl friend too.
