Noa Lang Breaks Silence After Horrific Thumb Injury at Anfield

Anfield, Champions League, Galatasaray, Liverpool, Noa Lang

In last’s night’s 2nd leg fixture between Liverpool and Galatasaray, Dutch striker Noa Lang suffered a horrific injury on his right hand, what seemed to be intense bleeding from his thumb.

It happened in the 75th minute, when the Turkish side was already 4-0 down. Noa Lang went ahead in a ground duel vs. Curtis Jones, where he was thrown off-balance into the advertisement barrier. What seemed as a routine collision into the board soon became a very serious injury.

Noa Lang grabbed onto the barrier to maintain his balance, but it’s speculated what caused the injury. The most plausible theory is that his thumb got lodged between the railing and the advertising board, where a sharp piece on the railing drilled into his right thumb, causing it to severe cut and cause harsh bleeding.

Many did their own investigations on the matter. In this tweet it allegedly claims an employee of Liverpool F.C had hid the sharp piece away right after Lang went down in pain, so that no one could take a picture of the sharp retract.

The injury itself has had many photos since. The most shocking ones are of Noa Lang being stretchered away, most probably because he was suffering from too much pain to get off the field under his own power.

This was the 2nd injury of the match for Galatasaray, as earlier in the match, Victor Osimhen was brought off at half time because he suffered a wrist injury earlier in the match. Osimhen’s injury is yet to be determined if it requires immediate surgery as announced by Galatasaray, as the reasoning for his substitution was he could risk a fracture on his wrist. However, all the attention was soon on Noa Lang.

After the match, Galatasaray officially announced that Noa Lang suffered a serious cut on his right thumb at Anfield, and will undergo surgery in Liverpool, accompanied by Galatasaray’s medical team on the matter.

The reaction from the female, who had a front seat view to Noa’s collision and cut from the barrier, had a visual gasp on her face, further adding to the severity of this injury.

This has sparked extreme outrage from not just the very passionate Galatasaray fans, but the Football world in general. Although some oddly claimed he should’ve been able to get up on his own for an injury to the right thumb, it’s almost chilling that, despite all the adrenaline Lang had from a Champions League game, the pain from the brutal cut was too much to bear.

However, the vast majority reacted for change. Some even speculated if the player, or Galatasaray, could sue Liverpool F.C for this overlooked part of the Stadium property, which promptly caused what could’ve been an amputated finger as some feared.

Many sent their best wishes to Noa Lang, as the newly signed Galatasaray striker has the backing of the whole fanbase and the Football community behind him.

Since then, Noa Lang has broke silence since the horrible injury he had suffered, posting this picture on his socials. A message to the Football World that he has gone through the surgery. It will be seen when he will be available to play again for Galatasaray, but this is a promising sign that it’s soon.
