Has Barca President Joan Laporta Lost Ton Of Weight? Hoax Pics Emerge

Barcelona, Body Talk, Joan Laporta

Barcelona President Joan Laporta is the latest talking point on social media, after images surfaced making it look as though he lost a ton of weight overnight.

The sudden transformation left fans utterly confused, with many wondering how he could have shed so much weight in such a remarkably short period.

A massive parody trend has taken over football forums and social media fan accounts (like total Barça on X).

These accounts published satirical posts claiming that the 64-year-old Laporta completed a ’50 Days of Fitness program’ over the summer break and is now in the ‘best shape of his life.’

Fans joked that since the club is broke, he isn’t eating anything which made him slim.

Some fans said that by doing 50 days of fitness program just to have enough strength to pull more economic levers is insane.

Others implied that after Barca achieved 1:1 financial, the first thing Laporta bought was Ozempic, thinking that is the only way for him to make a huge weight loss.

But many Barcelona faithful who follow Laporta’s day-to-day understood that it was a hoax. Here is a real image of Joan Laporta taken 4 days ago while launching the all-new Barca Play app –

Though the images were fake, Laporta is under strict medical supervision these days.

The FC Barcelona president has been sticking to a routine of “eating breakfast like a king and dinner like a beggar”, combined with medical advice to improve his well-being.

His weight loss journey became urgent after he suffered a thrombosis. Medical professionals severely restricted his air travel with the team to prevent further vascular complications, forcing him to slow down.

Despite the online noise, Laporta’s focus over the last few weeks has remained strictly political and operational rather than aesthetic.

Laporta recently secured his re-election as FC Barcelona president, officially beginning a new five-year mandate.

His physical appearance and stamina were frequent talking points on the high-stakes campaign trail leading up to the vote.

During the election cycle, political advisors reportedly suggested that shedding weight would improve his public image and help secure more votes.

Laporta adamantly brushed the advice aside, publicly stating he wanted socios to vote for him based on his executive track record and club achievements rather than his size.

After temporarily stepping down in February to run his official re-election campaign, Laporta defeated challenger Víctor Font in a landslide victory on March 15. With the vote finalized, he was officially confirmed as president for the 2026–2031 term.
