Spanish footballer and FC Barcelona Femení forward Claudia Pina went viral on X, but not for the right reasons. There has been a thread of posts on X claiming to have a link to a leaked video of Claudia.
Whereas the account user, Ruby Quinn, who posted the tweet from which the chain of tweets started, came forward mentioning that no such leaked video or any kind of disgraceful video of Claudia is available.
After the user realised that the post blew up and is now all over X, they came forward stating the original video she was mentioning. It was a video clip from the Supercopa de España Femenina final post-match celebration on January 20, 2024. In the video, she was seen having a playful moment with fellow teammate Cata Coll. The Barcelona women’s team won the cup beating Levante UD Femenino 7–0.
The user later also clarified that they did not intend to disrespect Claudia or cause damage to her public image, as there was a chain of tweets that went viral with captions indicating “ Claudia Pina’s leaked video” that directed to phishing websites and malware.
Following the post, there were a lot of accounts claiming to have Claudia’s leaked video, but no football page or public statement has been made regarding this. Most of the links that these accounts have tagged lead to fraudulent websites. It is very bizarre to see the number of accounts commenting to see the video of Claudia, which makes users think about how female athletes are scrutinized for the male gaze.
Some users have also come forward with statements that people are ignoring how much of an amazing striker she is and are only focusing on a so-called “ leaked video”
Another set of users were hating on her photo that resurfaced amidst this chain of events. The photo was posted by Claudia on her Instagram long before, during her summer break, when she was seen topless. Some users said that it was very unbecoming of a football star of Barça, and at the same time, some users said that it is time we normalise that a grown woman who is a footballer can do whatever she wants.
Claudia Pina is one of the most popular player of Barça and is regarded as one of the best female strikers in the world. Pina debuted in the Barcelona senior team when she was only 16 years old in 2018. Her presence in the team was so strong that the media reported that “ however she played, things always happen when she has the ball”.
In 2025, Pina extended her contract with Barça till 2029 , she even helped the women’s team achieve a clean sweep of titles in the 2025-26 season.
Her vacation photo was shared casually to showcase her off-duty time with friends and family, but the photo became viral for some very wrong reasons and led to public scrutiny and backlash. Some fans came up to support her, saying the people who are hating on her over this are creepy and act as if a woman’s body is something new.
It is a very distressing event to see users on social media go all over discussing a female footballer’s body. Moreover, they seize the opportunity to spread misinformation that causes not-so-good repercussions for the person, in this case, Claudia Pina. Fans have also said that no matter how much a woman progresses in sports, she will still be seen as just a woman in sports.
The Barça women’s team beat Paris FC 5-2 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in their first match yesterday. The team will be facing Logroño tomorrow in the Liga F. In September 2026, she scored a brilliant hat-trick against Deportivo Alavés during Liga F, leading Barça to a 6-0 victory.
