Scouts ‘Impressed’: Arsenal Target Rangers Youth Star for Hale End Pipeline

Arsenal

In the last few years, Arsenal’s Hale End Academy has been one of the most promising youth clubs in Europe. The academy has largely worked as a pipeline for talent, and it’s integration directly into the north London club. While the defending Premier League champs don’t hesitate to make big-money signings, the Hale End Academy is another source of players that Arsenal can bank upon.

Bukayo Saka, one of the most touted wingers for the club, is a product of the Academy. Besides Saka, there are multiple other examples, such as Emile Smith Rowe and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who have come out of that system. All these players are doing quite well in the European circuit, and the credit for it largely goes to Arsenal’s Academy.

Now, Arsenal is looking to integrate another teenager into their Hale End Academy to develop talent for the future. Pete O’Rourke, who is a transfer correspondent for Football Insider, recently reported that the north London club is tracking Rangers left-back Kai Urban to land and develop him at their Academy.

So far in his youth career, Urban has shown immense talent and work ethic on the right wing for the Gunners. Urban’s elite raw pace and ball recovery are top-notch, which has also helped him earn valuable minutes for the Scotland youth side. His playing style would fit well in Mikel Arteta’s system in the senior team, which is still a long way off.

Of course, the defending Premier League champions have good wing-backs like Jurrien Timber and Ben White. However, from a long-term perspective, Kai Urban’s move to the club can offer a lot to Arsenal, especially if Arsenal manages to land him so early in the upcoming winter transfer window in January.

However, his move to the North London club will be quite challenging. Rangers are keen on keeping the player at the helm of their youth teams with a clear focus on developing the player for the future.

However, with a major Premier League club like Arsenal knocking at the doorsteps, it will need to be seen whether Rangers actually manage to keep the player at the club.

The north London club is pretty excited about Urban’s talent, and his training and youth games have impressed the club’s scouts immensely as well. This makes half of the job already smooth for Kai Urban to integrate himself into a Premier League club where he can directly move into one of the best leagues in the world with growing talent and development.

Arsenal have been a club that gives chances to their academy players, and the club will look to do the same with Kai Urban as well, if the North London club actually manages to execute the plan.
