Sheer passion on display from David de Gea as the final whistle went off at Etihad

After stumbling to yet another disappointing draw against Aston Villa last week, even the most loyal United fans wouldn’t have had high hopes ahead of Tottenham’s visit and the trip to the Etihad.

But fast forward one week and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is beign heralded by all as a master tactician after getting the better of two of the biggest names in the game in Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.

After the 2-1 victory over their former boss at Old Trafford, the Red Devils put in an absolutely dominant performance that hasn’t been seen from a United team at the Etihad since the glory days with their devastating front four running rings around the champions for large parts of the game.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Ole’s young guns however with David de Gea having to make a couple of super saves to deny City from snatching a point towards the end.

Hence it was no surprise to see Solskjaer rushing to embrace the Spaniard stopper after the full time whistle, who looked absolutely ecstatic after putting in another hard nights shift.

The usually calm De Gea was uncharacteristically animated during the celebrations and United fans especially seemed to love the sheer passion on display when he kept shouting ” Vamos” towards the away section.
