Barcelona keeper suffers a tough time as Lionel Messi runs riot in training
Fans can finally heave a sigh of relief as footballing action looks set to resume across the European leagues.
After the successful relaunch of the Bundesliga, other leagues look to follow in its footsteps. Spain’s La Liga, notably, seems to be returning on June 11 with Sevilla taking on Real Betis.
As such, the top teams in the competition are taking no chances, conducting early training sessions to make sure their players are in fighting shape. Barcelona, of course, is no exception to the rule.
The current title holders began their practice sessions earlier than most, conducting drills as far back as May 8. Since then, we’ve had a steady trickle of images and videos from these sessions, keeping fans’ hopes up.
Now, a new video has surfaced that is sure to boost the Camp Nou faithful’s morale even further. After all, it shows their idol and multiple Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi showcasing a plethora of lethal skills.
The clip shows Messi having a go in a squad session, almost toying with all the players from the other team.
After collecting the ball with a neat tackle, La Pulga used his sublime passing and dribbling mastery to finesse past the opposition without a qualm.
After this bit of trickery, Messi entered the penalty area and proceeds to destroy Barca keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen with ease.
Widely considered one of the best goalies in the world, ter Stegen had no answer to Messi as the maestro eventually dinked the ball over his head for the goal.
