Harry Potter star backs LUFC players in their agenda to free Ben White from Brighton

Ben White has been instrumental in Leeds United‘ successes this season, featuring in every game under Marcelo Bielsa across all competitions.

The 22-year-old centre-back has developed into a defensive general for the Whites and has helped them keep 24 clean sheets during the season.

The club considers the player to be crucial going into the Premier League season. White is currently under contract with Brighton who are unwilling to let go of the player unless they receive a considerable offer.

The Seagulls have reportedly set a £35m price tag on the defender and Leeds will undoubtedly need to increase on their recent bid as several other Premier League clubs join the race to sign the defender.

The Leeds faithful have been concerned regarding whether the club would be able to secure the crowd favourite’s services permanently. Therefore, the fans took it in their own hands and instigated a trend on Twitter to ‘Free Ben White.’

The hashtag #FreeBenWhite has gathered a multitude of support on various social media platforms.

The trend has already seen players like Ian Poveda, Kalvin Philipps and Tyler Robert like joining in with a sly inside joke on Instagram.

Now, Hollywood actor Ralph Ineson, who played Amycus Carrow, a Death Eater, in Harry Potter movies has joined in to support the movement.

The Leeds born actor tweeted in support to his home club, “On an undercover mission in Brighton to #freebenwhite hoping the Bielsa T doesn’t blow my cover.”
