‘Not human’ – Twitter reacts to Erling Braut Haaland’s gravity-defying leap against Bayern Munich

Erling Braut Haaland is a force of nature. The 20-year-old has racked up some excellent numbers in the league and in Europe ever since he broke out into the global football scene as one of the best young footballers at the moment.

The Borussia Dortmund marksman boasts of a profile that makes him an incredibly tough customer to deal with if you are a defender – Haaland is a 6’4 tall centre forward who is adept at winning aerial duels, but he also possesses a scary turn of pace for a man of his size.

Haaland put the former attribute to full display to shock the football world beyond belief when Borussia Dortmund met rivals Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga last night.

Haaland broke the deadlock as early as in the 2nd minute of the game, with a fine left-footed strike from the edge of the box. Not only did the Norwegian forward give Dortmund the perfect start to a Der Klassiker outing that one can ever have, he doubled Dortmund’s advantage in the 9th minute when he finished off an incredible team move from close range.

Even though Bayern turned it out in spectacular fashion to win the game thanks to a Robert Lewandowski hat trick, Haaland proved to be a force to be reckoned with for Jerome Boateng and David Alaba throughout the outing.

Haaland dominated Bayern’s treble-winning defenders on the pitch and in the air – as was proven when his gravity-defying leap to head the ball was captured on camera.

Haaland’s levitating frame captured all the attention on social media after the game, as Twitter reacted to the Norwegian’s latest exploits to make fans doubt whether he is indeed human or not.

The intimidating centre forward was leaps and bounds above any other footballer on the pitch – almost on his own stratosphere altogether. Haaland kept the much-celebrated Bayern backline on their toes all throughout the game but was unlucky to have ended the match on the losing side when the record Bundesliga winners resumed normal proceedings to win the game 4-2.
