Portuguese forward Jota who is currently on loan at Scottish club Celtic from Benfica has already established himself as a favourite amongst fans.
The Portuguese has netted 8 times for the Hoops this season and also grabbed up 6 assists.
His impressive performances have gained quite a bit of fanfare and the club are actively looking to secure his signature as a permanent signing.
To showcase their love for the 22-year-old, Bhoys fans recently unveiled a new chant, singing his praises.
In a clip that emerged after Celtic’s 2-0 victory against Hibernian, fans can be seen getting their groove on and singing the new chant in full voice.
Sung to the tune of O’zone’s ‘Dragostea din Tel’, the lyrics are –
‘When you score you make the Celtic sing
Jota on the wing, Jota Jota on the wing
Every time you’re on the ball we know
There’s gonna be a goal
Our superstar from Portugal’
Aside from the pop-inspired chant, during the game, Celtic fans also sang, “Celtic, Celtic, sign him up”.
They certainly left no doubt as to their opinion on Jota’s future.
If transfer chatter and rumours are anything to go by, it does seem like a permanent move may be on the cards, with a sum of £6m being quoted.
And if the move does come to fruition, it would surely be a deserved one.
