BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey has gained popularity for successfully hosting their Premier League and Champions League shows, but not many know he can be an annoying LinkedIn influencer too.
That is because Humphrey has become a well-known figure for his work on TV, for being able to make his co-hosts and guests comfortable in analyzing matches.
Humphrey has also excelled in some side businesses apart from his work for BT Sport. He’s also the creator and host of the High-Performance Podcast, which he co-hosts with Professor Damian Hughes.
In the podcast, they’ve managed to interview some prominent sportspersons like Tyson Fury, George Russell, and Jordan Henderson.
Humphrey also appears to have a strict lifestyle he likes to follow.
It appears that he’s actually quite active on LinkedIn, the platform where people apply for jobs and follow prominent businessmen as well as higher-up people from companies.
But Jake’s recent-most post on LinkedIn has confused a lot of fans.
What did Humphrey write about his life on LinkedIn?
Out of nowhere, the BT Sport presenter decided to reveal his ‘world class’ morning routine – which starts at 5.12 AM – when his family members are all fast asleep.
In a broader description of his routine, he wrote: “Good morning from my sofa. It’s 5.12 am. The family are asleep. I’m not. I rarely am at this time.
“That is because I have 3 World Class Basics that I start my day with. 5 am alarm call, water and vitamins, 10 minutes spent planning a list for that day.
“These are World Class Basics. Basic because they are simple. A daily reminder that to achieve the things you want in life, it isn’t about huge leaps of faith, life-changing decisions or massive changes of direction.
“It’s simply breaking your day down into the smallest parts possible (your many, many decisions) and asking what each one says about your self-worth.”
He also urged others to try his ‘world class’ routine of starting their days early in the morning and undergoing the ‘basics’ that he mentioned. More than anything else, this post seemed to be reeking of something that a LinkedIn influencer would normally write about – which Humphrey obviously isn’t.
Humphrey annoys fans with his LinkedIn Influencer post
Jake appears to have used this post as a way of trying to promote the High Performance Podcast, as he mentioned it towards the end of his lengthy post and urged his followers to check it out as well.
Many fans are annoyed with what appears to be a ‘holier than thou’ kind of statement from Humphrey and his efforts to sound like a Sermon of sorts. In fact, it has forced some fans to come up with their own hilarious ‘morning routines’ as well.
Some also feel like Humphrey weirdly sounds like a psychopath, similar to that Patrick Bateman from the famous movie ‘American Psycho’.
Humphrey has done a lot of admirable work in his time presenting the shows for BT Sport, but his latest effort in aiming to act like a social media influencer shows that he’s anything but a ‘similar friendly face you see on TV’ in real life.
