23/24 Tottenham Away Kit Launch Delayed Due To Wizkid and RHCP Concerts

Tottenham Hotspur are making their fans wait a little longer for the release of their away kit for the 2023-24 season to their consternation.

Their home kit was released on June 8 and the away kit was expected to follow suit about a month later.

That prediction was based on the events of the previous term.

Then the away kit was launched a month after the home kit via the club’s official website.

The kit was expected to be released well before the beginning of the London side’s Asia-Pacific pre-season tour that began with a fixture in Perth against West Ham United.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will travel to Brentford Community Stadium for their first game of the Premier League.

Spurs will wear their away kit for that fixture against the Bees but unfortunately, it has yet to be released.

Images of the away kit have been leaked on Footy Headlines, with the website revealing the color scheme of the same as far back as October last year.

It begs the question why the Lilywhites are delaying the launch of their away kit even more.

One possible reason given is that there have been multiple concerts held in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the last month.

On July 29, the stadium hosted 33-year-old Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid.

Before that, on July 21, American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers saw a full-capacity audience at the same venue.

Reportedly, on both occasions, the club shop was full of concert-related merchandise with the away kit not to be seen.

With less than two weeks to go until the start of the new season, it is unclear if there is another reason behind the delay.

Perhaps the club wish to sort out the Harry Kane situation before unveiling their away kit.

Kane was a prominent part of the video that served to launch their home kit but a move to Bayern Munich looks to be on the cards for the England captain.

Time is not on Spurs’ side as the Kane saga continues to drag on while August 13, the date of their season-opener, draws ever near.
