The Post-match analysis shows are highly popular among football fans, who look for ex-players and coaches so they can find out their opinions on every match. There are so many of these shows on various networks for every single tournament from Premier League to La Liga to the Bundesliga.
Mostly, these shows are technical and always just talk, but sometimes on rare occasions fans will spot something they think is hilarious. Recently something did happen. During the Amazon Prime post-match show for the Premier League match between Arsenal and Luton Town, fans noticed something hilarious and were blown away.
During the show, guests Alan Shearer and Roberto Martinez were seen wearing the exact same outfit as each other. Similarities go beyond their outfits as they’re both wearing black turtlenecks. Since both Shearer and Martinez are bald, their similarities are rather stark.
Fans found this coincidence to be really funny with how the stylist at Amazon or the people working behind the camera never said anything to point out this obvious mistake. And when there’s a humorous mistake like this, fans were sure to respond with their favourite relatable memes.
Both Shearer and Martinez got trolled for wearing the same clothes. The memes they had to face were the Spiderman meme where Spiderman points finger at each other. While others compared them to the “The Cousins “from Breaking Bad.
They also got compared to Ant and Dec, as in Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, the anchor duo from several shows in the UK including Britain’s Got Talent. They too wear the same clothes mostly. So, the comparison is very much justified.
One fan commented that Shearer and Martinez looked like two twins who got dressed nicely by their grandmother. The twin aspect was a highlight of the memes used as Austin Powers and twins from The Shining comparisons were also drawn by fans.
No one really knows how they both ended up with the same clothes or why no one from production asked at least one of them to change. But it’s satisfying for fans to see such rare moments during what is mostly, a mundane football talk show.
