Szoboszlai’s Double Life: Liverpool Star and Business Mogul

Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool

In Football, every nation has its golden boy, a star who carries on his back the hopes of millions. Portugal has Cristiano Ronaldo, South Korea has Son and for Hungary, that player is Dominik Szoboszlai.

Since joining Liverpool in July 2023 on a five-year contract worth £60 million, Szoboszlai became one of the club’s highest-paid players, but his earnings aren’t limited to the pitch.

Back home in Hungary, Szoboszlai has secured several lucrative brand deals. Among his standout endorsements is a deal with Magyar Telekom, Hungary’s leading telecom provider, signed in March 2024.

In May of the same year, he became the face of McDonald’s Hungary, with a special ‘Domi Meal’ launched to mark the collaboration.

Red Bull also joined the list of his sponsors, and the midfielder has been featured in their promotional campaigns since October 2024.

From his early days in football, Szoboszlai was backed by Nike, which recognized his potential.

The 24-year-old also owns a stake in a restaurant in his hometown of Székesfehérvár. For Dominik, walking the streets of Hungary without attracting a horde of fans seems nearly impossible.

As Hungary’s captain, Szoboszlai carries the support of an entire nation, including Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who had bookmarked Liverpool’s clash with Manchester City in his calendar, where Szoboszlai delivered a goal and an assist.

He also found the net in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Newcastle and with the Reds in top form, he is on course to become the first Hungarian to lift the Premier League Trophy.
