Spanish winger Lamine Yamal has quickly established himself as one of the best footballers in the world, and perhaps the best player currently playing at just 18 years old. The FC Barcelona winger has garnered a huge following for his playing style, which is characterized by his technique, flair, speed, and long-range shooting—qualities that remind us of the Argentine who also played for the Catalan team and brought them many moments of glory.
Ever since he established himself as one of the stars of that UEFA Euro 2024 campaign with Spain, it was clear Yamal was destined for greatness. But no one expected Yamal to become arguably the best young footballer in the world so quickly. Many already consider him the best young footballer in history and he currently wears the legendary number 10 at FC Barcelona.
In addition to being an excellent player, Yamal is a boy who is blessed to live a star’s life at such a young age, which he has demonstrated through his way of dressing, his Instagram photos, and of course, his hairstyles, which have changed since his debut with FC Barcelona until now.
On the day of his official debut with FC Barcelona under Xavi, Yamal had a hairstyle that featured a fade and the top part of his hair was long and wavy. The Spaniard maintained this style for almost the entire season of his debut, so there were no major changes to his hairstyle.

Then, in 2024, Yamal let his hair grow a little on the sides without letting it grow on top, thus having a more natural wavy style. His hair was still completely black at this point.

But a couple of months later in 2024, right around the time of UEFA Euro 2024, Yamal started sporting his hair with blonde tones at the tips and a slightly longer bob. This style defined him for almost the entire 2024 season until the final months. He kept this hairstyle until the current year 2025.

In 2025, before the FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid match in the Copa del Rey, Lamine Yamal surprised everyone and sported a new look with completely blonde hair, emulating Messi, who did the same in 2017. Yamal’s hairstyle would look a little different: the back and sides would be short, but the top and front would be longer than before and with a much straighter texture than before.

This style has been very well received by many fans, which undoubtedly inspires the Spaniard to play better.

Since then, Yamal has sported that hairstyle ever since. Many see it as a clear tribute to Messi, but he himself said he dyed his hair out of sheer boredom at home, so these are just rumors that he did it for the Argentine star. Currently wearing the FC Barcelona number 10, Lamine Yamal is poised for great things, and now he has time to improve even further.
