How Many Languages Does Joshua Kimmich Speak? More Than You Think

Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich is, realistically speaking, one of the best footballers in the world. He’s capable of playing as a center back, a right back, a right midfielder, and a defensive midfielder, and he excels in all of these positions.

Joshua Kimmich has received praise from teammates, former teammates, managers, and football experts for his, versatility, professionalism and playing style, and has often been compared to the legendary Philipp Lahm.

Kimmich has been an icon in Germany and also at FC Bayern Munich, and since his debut with the team, many other teams from different countries have wanted to acquire his services. This would be a problem for players who only speak one language, but it wouldn’t be so much of a problem for Kimmich since he speaks German, English, and Spanish.

Kimmich has spent most of his career at FC Bayern Munich.

Although Kimmich started out with VfB Stuttgart and made his professional debut with RB Leipzig in 2013, he’s been playing for the Bavarian giants since 2015, giving him nearly 10 years with the team. Several teams have made numerous bids for the German, but FC Bayern Munich has managed to keep them on the pitch. He is currently the vice-captain of his club and the captain of the German national team. One team that has wanted to sign Kimmich on numerous occasions is FC Barcelona, as they believe the German’s profile and playing style are perfect for the Catalan side.

How many languages can Joshua Kimmich speak?

It’s pretty obvious that Kimmich knows German since he’s from Germany. It’s his native language, and he speaks it perfectly. But what other languages does he know besides German?

Joshua Kimmich knows how to speak English, as it’s a language taught in schools in almost every country in the world, as it’s one of the most important languages of all. Kimmich has shown on a few occasions that he can speak it, although not as fluently as many other footballers, but he knows how to defend himself with it.

Currently, it is the language he uses to communicate with Harry Kane, the team’s current striker, and with Michael Olise, also a current member of the team, and he also used to communicate with Eric Dier during his time in Germany.

Kimmich also started learning Spanish some time ago, as he has teammates at FC Bayern Munich who speak Spanish, and this way it would be easier for them to converse with the German. With the arrival of Colombian Luis Diaz to FC Bayern Munich, it’s obvious that both will communicate in Spanish to make it easier for the Colombian, but according to Kimmich himself, Diaz’s English is very good.

Could Kimmich learn another language in the future? Perhaps. There are footballers who speak up to six languages perfectly, so for a genius like Joshua Kimmich, it would be a piece of cake.
