Fans Shocked as Michael Olise Breaks Character with Rare Wild Celebration

Bayern Munich, Football Celebrations, Michael Olise

While football celebrations often stir controversies or bring more colour to the game, certain players are known for keeping their composure even after scoring important goals, as if they were doing another job. Michael Olise isn’t primarily known for his antics or emotions; if anything, he is the exact anomaly.

The Frenchman has been heavily influential for the German Giants since his arrival and scored one of the most important goals of his tenure so far for them in the Der Klassiker. Olise eventually let his emotions overpower him and did a kneeslide, screaming in passion with his teammates as he rejoiced the goal that eventually became the winner for them.

While certain players, such as Jesse Lingard, Jude Bellingham, Jamie Vardy, and others, are known for their numerous celebrations, Olise is amongst football’s most unbothered players, much like N’Golo Kanté or Toni Kroos.

He is a player who could easily score a 30-yard banger and still wack back to the halfway line as if it were a training session. No jumping into the crowds or provoking the away fans, just pure class and business is something that the youngster thrives on, keeping him concentrated.

Hence, when Olise eventually did score the winner against Bayern’s biggest rivals, Borussia Dortmund, on Saturday Night, he surprised himself as well as the fans with his emotions getting the better of him.

He went towards the corner, flabbergasted, rejoicing the moment as realization dawned over him of his achievement alongside his teammates. Olise then went on to do a kneeslide, which was immediately dubbed cold by his fans. The moment clearly meant a lot to him as he went on to share the goal on his Instagram story later.

There have been many occasions where Olise has scored important goals but shrugged off the moment as if it didn’t matter. One such incident happened against Manchester United in January 2023 when Olise scored a stunning stoppage-time free-kick to secure a point for Crystal Palace as the equaliser. He scored from over 25 yards but went back to the halfway line casually without celebrating, while his teammates went into a frenzy.

Another banger that he scored and went without celebrating was his left-foot bullet for Bayern against Celtic in the Champions League earlier this year. He received the ball on the wing and, through his first touch, managed to secure it into a scoring position, comfortably gliding it easily past the keeper.

It was after his stunning free-kick against Hoffenheim in May 2025 that Olise earned the nickname, ‘Mr. Nonchalant’. He opened the scoring in a 4-0 victory, which he again celebrated like another day at the office.

This video is a clear indication that even after having one of the greatest debut seasons in Bundesliga history, Olise remained calm throughout most of his contributions:

The goal against Dortmund happened late in the game, just before the 80th minute, when, after a heavily fought battle, Bayern got the ball into the Dortmund penalty area. There were only some inches between the ball and the goal line before Dortmund’s brightest young prospects, Jobe Bellingham, put his body on the line to pull off the clearance, which was only turned back inside the goal milliseconds later.

It was a scrappy yet efficient and vital tap-in, which eventually became the differentiator in the fixture as Bayern took all the points home. While this might not have been the prettiest goal in his catalogue, it would certainly live long in Olise’s memory.

As he doesn’t celebrate often, the moment of winning De Klassiker would be the zenith for any player, hence it wasn’t for any ordinary goal. Julian Brandt scored a compensatory goal later in the game, but it couldn’t affect the final result of the game as Bayern maintained their lead at the top of the table.
