Chelsea Injury Crisis 2025/26: Full List of Injured Players and Return Dates

Chelsea, Premier League

Injuries have always been a problem for football players and the same is the story for Chelsea. This season particularly, Chelsea have had an extensive worryful list of injured players. Here are all the Chelsea players who are injured at the moment and their probable return dates –

Cole Palmer

England National Team and Chelsea’s main man, Cole Palmer has been unlucky to have suffered a groin injury at the very start of the season. During Chelsea’s visit to East London to face West Ham, Palmer, who was in the starting lineup to face the Irons, had to withdraw from the squad right before kick-off due to an unforeseen groin injury.

Enzo Maresca has been very careful in managing his players’ injuries as we have seen, especially in the case of Reece James, where the Italian has carefully managed the young skipper’s playing minutes to prevent him from getting injured as he used to. Thanks to this, England and Chelsea’s first-choice right-back has been fit for over a year now, something which used to be only a dream for Chelsea fans.

In Palmer’s case, the withdrawal from the West Ham game was only a precautionary move to protect the England international. Palmer would then feature as a super-sub against Brentford, where he netted the equaliser past Kelleher in a 2-2 draw at the GTech Community Stadium. A few days later, he would score his first Champions League goal against Bayern Munich, where Chelsea were ousted 3-1.

He was then taken off in the loss to Man United after playing just 21 minutes where Enzo Maresca revealed that Palmer’s injury never healed and he played all these games while being actively injured.

Since then, the 23 year-old hasn’t featured for Chelsea while he has already missed 9 matches with more to come, and is being miserably missed by the Blues’ supporters. For now, he looks a doubt for the Champions League and Premier League fixtures against Barcelona and Arsenal, respectively.

His current date of returning from injury is said to be somewhere between Late November and Early December.

Levi Colwill

Levi Colwill scored the only goal in Chelsea’s final Premier League day fixture against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, in the 24/25 season. Keeping a clean sheet and scoring the only goal made him the sole reason for securing Chelsea’s return to the Champions League for the 25/26 season. The England international featured for Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final against PSG, where he provided the assist for Cole Palmer’s second goal in a 3-0 victory.

Right before the season began, the 22 year-old suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, which has sidelined him until the end of this season. Ever since their first choice centre-back’s injury, Chelsea’s defensive game has been nothing short of woeful, having failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 of their 14 games this season across all competitions.

He is set to miss the majority of the 25/26 season and his current date of returning from injury is said to be Late April 2026.

Benoit Badiashille

French centre-back Benoit Badiashille, who was a rotational squad player for most of last season, has tried his best to fill in Colwill’s shoes. Badiashille played the majority of the Champions League fixture against Benfica, where the Blues came out victorious in a narrow 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge which marked the Blues’ first UCL victory in 938 days.

The 24 year-old, gave a solid performance in the match against Liverpool when he was paired up with 18 year-old academy graduate, Josh Acheampong. Liverpool only managed to score a goal right when the centre-back pairing were forced to leave the pitch due to injuries.

The Frenchman suffered a knock against the Reds and has already missed over 4 matches for the Blues, and is set to be out till Early December.

Liam Delap

The former Ipswich Town striker joined the Blues as their first no.9 in two years, just before the Club World Cup. The striker would then go on to provide an assist for Enzo Fernandez in his first appearance for Chelsea, against MLS side LA FC, where the Blues came out victorious 2-0 on MD1.

He later scored his first goal against Tunisian side, Esperance, where Chelsea won 3-0 on MD3. Skip to the Premier League, he suffered a hamstring injury after playing just 14 minutes in a 2-0 victory over Fulham in a West London derby.

The son of Rory Delap, former Stoke City midfielder who was famous for his long throw-ins, has already missed around 11 matches. He returned to training ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against Wolves, where he came on as a substitute, found himself getting sent off after playing just 25 minutes, giving Chelsea another red card.

He will miss the match against Spurs due to a one-match ban and will return to action for Chelsea’s visit to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag in the Champions League during the upcoming midweek, i.e November, 5.

Dario Essugo

The Portuguese midfielder joined Chelsea ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup campaign from Sporting Lisbon. During the 24/25 season, he was on loan to Spanish side UD Las Palmas. The 20 year-old had short appearances in the summer for Chelsea, and while he was yet to feature in the Premier League for his new club, he suffered a thigh injury during the international break in October when he was called up for the Portugal U-21 national team.

His current date of returning from injury is said to be in Late December.
