Erling Haaland was business as usual this week, scoring goals and getting his team the 3 points as Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1.
Aside from his goals, Haaland gave fans another memorable moment as he brought out a hilarious robot dance celebration, and fans can’t stop watching the GIFs.
If Haaland’s dance wasn’t hilarious enough, the reaction of Rayan Cherki sliding in might be even funnier, as fans on X rightfully pointed out.

Cherki, who has just 1 goal this season, was able to get off the mark in the assist column in the same game as he assisted both of Haaland’s goals. He joined Manchester City earlier this season and has had a rocky start till now.
This has directly affected Manchester City’s performances as the side is already 6 points behind league leaders Arsenal, with 3 losses in 10 already.
However, Cherki’s quality is undeniable, and being such a positive locker room presence and his infectious energy with the celebrations will only win him more fans.
Haaland has since posted his celebration on Instagram with the caption: “Guess I couldn’t hide it any longer”.
Peter Crouch, the footballer with arguably the most iconic robot celebration, also gave his opinion on Haaland’s celebration with a witty reminder on X that he started the robot dance.

For those not familiar with the context, Haaland has long been called a robot because of his large build, a cold and emotionless presence, and machine-like consistency as if he were programmed to score goals.
Talking about Haaland, he was in the news earlier, dressing up as the Joker for Halloween and dropping an enjoyable vlog on YouTube as he went undercover in the city of Manchester.
Despite the “Robot” claims, there is nothing robotic about Haaland outside the pitch. Haaland is actually a rarity in the world of football in 2025.
In an era where every player is media-trained, every answer in every interview is by the book, Haaland is one of the very few players with a personality. This is why so many neutrals adore him and love him as a player.
The fact that he has bagged 141 goals in 159 appearances since joining Manchester City helps too, but his lively personality is a big reason why he has been winning hearts.
