Jamie Vardy Turns Back the Clock to Cook Juventus Defender in Serie A Clash

Jamie Vardy

The Former English International Jamie Vardy had a stellar career while in England. Famously winning the 2015/16 Premier League title with Leicester City against all odds, along with the FA Cup in 2021 and the Community Shield in 2022.

He also broke the record of scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League games during the title-winning 2015/16 season. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2019/20 season. After his time in England scoring 200 goals in 500 appearances for the Foxes, Jamie Vardy was linked to moves to clubs like Wrexham, Leeds United and several MLS Clubs, but Vardy eventually decided to move to Italy to join the club Cremonese in the summer at the age of 38.

Vardy has had a decent start to his career in Italy. However, his recent performances have caught the eye of the Italian and the world football media. His most recent heroics came in Cremonese’s match against the powerful Juventus.

This being his first start for Cremonese, Vardy scored his second goal in his last three games as his Cremonese side lost to Juventus by a narrow 1-2 margin. Along with his goal, it was Vardy’s overall performance that made the football media take notice of him once again.

According to Sportbible, Football Italia ranked Vardy as Cremonese’s best player against Juventus. Even the opposition, the Juventus fanzone Black and White and Read all Over, said, “Jamie Vardy scoring against Juventus in the year 2025? Really now?

“But Vardy is Vardy and will forever be Vardy as long as he’s playing. He’s scored so many damn goals like the one he did against Juventus during his time in England.

“He’s out here counting how many seconds Michele Di Gregorio had the ball in his hands while also standing right next to him and barely giving him any room to actually kick the ball upfield.

“That’s just Vardy being Vardy, folks. He is an agent of chaos if there ever was one in this game.”

However, apart from the goal itself, a particular moment from the match has caught the attention of the fans on social media.

The moment came in the 83rd minute of the game when Juventus were leading comfortably by 2 goals.

Jamie Vardy controlled a long pass given to him by his Norwegian teammate Dennis Johnsen and ran past the Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti to score Cremonese’s only goal of the match.

This had the fans in a frenzy and took notice of Vardy once again, just like his Premier League days. Rolling back the years.

Vardy’s superb goal proved to be a little too late for Cremonese as they ended up losing to Spalletti’s Juventus by a 1-2 margin.

But Vardy’s run and finish showed that the veteran English striker still has some of that old magic left in him, as he is now the joint second-highest goalscorer with Federico Bonazzoli, with 4 goals each at Cremonese.
