Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Stirs Merseyside Rivalry: ‘Way More Everton Fans in Liverpool Than Reds’

Everton, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Liverpool

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has already become a fan favourite at the Blue zone of the Merseyside.

He is found to be an integral part of the Everton project and has helped them climb up to 7th in the table only two points away from Top 4.

The midfielder has gained the backing of the Evertonians for his calmness on the ball, decision making and his passion to win. Some have even considered the most complete midfielder to play for them.

Dewsburry-Hall arrived from Chelsea to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer for a fee of £28.65 million. In 14 Premier League games this season, he has scored 4 goals and 3 assists.

He received a rousing reception from the fans on his debut and had promised that the fans will see the best version of himself every time he steps in the pitch.

During an exclusive interview with the “TOFFEE TV”, the Englishman revealed that he was surprised by the magnitude of the club and didn’t realise it was more than what he expected.

I think Everton is bit like a sleeping giant. Everyone knows they are a massive club. It is just weird how many fans are there. I get recognized more now than when i was at chelsea. I even saw a lot of Everton fans when i was in New York for holidays. That really surprised me about how many Evertonians are there everywhere. I have had a couple walks around Liverpool, and there are so many fans – and I feel like there’s way more Evertonians in Liverpool. There is nothing better than having a fanbase crazy about football and that makes you do well for them“.

He also said that he had not experienced an atmosphere as loud as the Everton fans had been during their game against Brighton at Home.

“When we walked out for the Brighton game at home, that was the loudest i have ever experienced in a stadium playing for or against a team. That was so loud, its hard to describe”.

Dewsburry-Hall seems to have flattered with the Everton fanbase and received much love through the Twitter Everton community. But the midfielder had caught the strays from Liverpool fans. The Kopites could not agree with his opinion and provide counter arguments to prove it wrong.

“In December 2020, it was revealed that 5,832 of Liverpool’s 27,000 season ticket holders had Liverpool postcodes. This compares to 25,647 of Everton’s 30,500 season ticket holders who had Liverpool postcodes. Everton are the most popular with match going fans in Liverpool.” UTFT
