Ibrahim Konate, has added a new layer of fun in his friendship with the new arrivals in Liverpool, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. The duo’s response to the French defender sums up the chemistry currently prevailing in the Liverpool squad after back-to-back wins.
Liverpool signed Hugo Ekitike for £79 million and Florian Wirtz for £100 million in their record breaking summer transfer window.
While Wirtz has been important but lacklustre, Ekitike has been their revelation signing this season. He has 10 goals and an assist in 23 games for the Reds already.
Although he was benched to accommodate Alexander Isak initially, the goals came Liverpool’s way automatically once he was brought back into the side.
Liverpool finally lodged back-to-back success last week after an away visit to Milan in UCL and a win against Brighton at home. Ekitike scored both the goals of the PL game, making him an indisputable starter.
Ekitike had a post-game interview to attend on Saturday. Little did he knew that he was about to be included in Konate’s freaky Snapchat filter experimentation.
Konate caught a picture of Ekitike and added a “Big Forehead” filter to it, resulting in a face Ekitike would pray not to have.
Ekitike is seen with a huge forehead and his face is destructured. Funnily, Konate has him saved as “Big Hekki” in his Snapchat.
This is not the first time Konate had posted a photo of his teammate in a weird way.
Coming back home from Italy, the Frenchman had Wirtz sitting alongside him in the plane.
It was the perfect time for his photo editing mischief as he put a “Fat Face or Chubby Face” filter to Wirtz and had uploaded it on his Instagram account.
Wirtz responded that a revenge is in the making with by replying, “Okay, wait then ⏳” .
Liverpool fans have had their say in this Snapchat-filter friendship.
