Viktor Gyokeres Makes Arsenal Teammates Laugh With Self-Deprecating Humor
Viktor Gyokeres hasn’t had the best of times in front of the goal since his big-money move to Arsenal.
The Swedish superstar, who was banging in goals for fun at Sporting, has found goals hard to come by while his all-around gameplay has become a point of ridicule for rival fans.
However, amid the patchy run of form, it’s good to see Arsenal’s new number 14 has not lost his sense of humor.
Gyokeres, who was the match winner for Arsenal against Everton, was in a joking mood at the post-match interview. After his 27th-minute penalty made the difference against Everton, Gyokeres was invited for the post-match interview alongside Saka.
When asked about the performance, Gyokeres stated that it was a good result and that he felt nice after scoring a goal.
As the interview was ending, Gyokeres was asked to do the honors and hand the Player of the Match trophy to his teammate… something that he did in an extremely wholesome way before the two burst into laughter.
Upon handing the trophy, Gyokeres said:
“Here you go bro! Do you have enough space at home?”

Although a joke, Saka probably needs to have a massive trophy cabinet at his home if he has to fit in every personal accolade he has received in his career. The English winger has been one of the most consistent players for the Gunners since he became a first-team regular.
The Swede’s habit of being unintentionally funny and not being afraid to make self-deprecating jokes has been winning him a lot of points from Arsenal fans on Football Twitter.
Fresh off his hilarious moment with Saka on Saturday, Gyokeres was at it again, this time delivering his best performance of the season and having everyone in stitches with his funny quips.
On a YouTube video posted on Arsenal’s official YouTube channel, Gyokeres, Odegaard, and Hincapie are playing the eFootball 2v2 challenge with FIFA Content Creator Dan Amenyah.
Dan asks Hincapie who he thinks is the most skillful footballer at Arsenal, to which the Arsenal defender replies, “Martinelli”.
As Dan is questioning why Hincapie didn’t go with Odegaard, who is considered a technical artist, the quick-witted Gyokeres, who is considered to be clumsy and anything but technical on the ball, goes, “What about me?” as all four of them burst into laughter.

A few moments later, with the score at 1-1, a disappointed Dan asks Gyokeres, “Victor, we couldn’t keep a clean sheet,” to which Gyokeres, who was struggling with the pace of the game, puts all the blame on the expert gamer Amenyah with, “You’re a bit lazy to be fair”.
This left his opponents, Odegaard and especially Hincapie, laughing uncontrollably.
In Round 2, Gyokeres two-foots an opposition player from behind and gets a red card in the process, to the amusement of his opponents.
Round 3 sees Gyokeres at his sassiest. Amenyah tells Gyokeres that since he scored the goal in Round 1, he’s counting on the Swede to score this time.
Without missing a beat, Gyokeres reminds Amenyah how it was his pass that helped him score the goal and now he needs similar service in return.
“But the service I gave you… can I have the same please?”
Dan then reminds his teammate it was his red card that made them lose the second round, to which the quick-witted Swede immediately goes, “and your open goal miss yeah”.
Gyokeres ultimately had the last laugh as he scored a brace in the 3rd round and celebrated in the faces of his opponents by saying, “Huh, what are you saying?” and doing his trademark Bane Mask celebration.
With the match-winning goal this weekend against Everton and two masterful displays of his humorous nature, Arsenal fans will be hoping the striker gains more confidence, and it can kickstart the Swede’s Arsenal career.
After just 5 goals in 15 games, Arsenal fans expect a lot more goals in the tense title race as Manchester City are just 2 points behind Arsenal in the Premier League.
