Arguably, the English Football’s most populous giant, Manchester United are off their true colours for more than a decade now.
There is no stability in the club, with managers arriving season after season, and the fans already in disapproval with the club’s bosses.
Their current season is in tantrum, with United just outside the top 4 in their non-European season.
Yet, they still find a way that markets them as the biggest club of England.
A new entertainment venture involving Manchester United is making the headlines recently.
A team known for domination, winning the Premier League 20 times, joint most in the country, which only Liverpool have managed to equal with their victory in the last season.
More impressive must be the fact that United’s last title came in the year 2013 and it’s been 13 years since United won the title.
Their best finish after the trophy season, came in the 2017/18 season, where they finished 2nd in the points table with 81 points, 19 away from the historic champions, Manchester City.
United are without an European participation this season, but the amount of attraction and fanbase it has, does not fade with the club’s lack of success.
Infact, they are set to boost their current popularity by signing a deal with production giants Lionsgate over a TV series that revolves around the club’s history.
The series is set to be similar to the Netflix hit, drama series, “The Crown”, which covers the history of Queen Elizabeth II starting from her wedding to her son, Prince Charles’ wedding, encapsulating her entire reign throughout the series. The series in fiction, spanned across six decades, from 1947 to 2005.
United are taking an approach of the same format, by choosing a semi-fiction induced story that uncovers through the rich history of the club starting from the unfortunate 1958 Munich disaster, through the Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson Era their most recent success.
They had avoided, the usual documentary style, “All or Nothing”, by the Amazon Prime, which has been the convention across multiple football clubs.
The reason cited for the disapproval is said that Ruben Amorim, previously did not want intrusion into the dressing room which might distract the team, as the series covers every area across the club premises.
In the initial stages, the studios had talks held with Jed Mercurio, the British Writer and director of the English series, “Line of Duty”, a serial drama revolving around anti-corruption unit.
The series is still in its development cycle and has not been fully staged, but if it is made and sold to a streaming platform, a partly sum of multi millions in pounds plus the royalties of the brand images would be offered to United.
Imaginary casting has already started between fans, who pick out like for like personalities to depict the club’s important figures.
Brian Cox and Brendan gleeson were two interesting choices for Sir Alex Ferguson, while Christopher Ecclestone is seen a perfect cast for Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Colin Farrell was chosen for Roy Keane, as a video edited with Alex Ferguson and Roy Keane as Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell in the movie “The Banshees of Inisherin”, surfaced on X.
Stephen Graham is a counterpart for Wayne Rooney according to the fans.
Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is seen an option for Lisandro Martinez, probably as a mockery of the physical similarities. While the question of who auditions for Gary Neville, certain choices were presented funnily by the United fans. One was Moises Arias, from the Amazon Prime series, Fallout.
This would be quite fun to be honest. Screw it, Brian Cox as Sir Alex Ferguson. https://t.co/dSfuw5aAJt pic.twitter.com/VOyoigOSDy

United’s efforts outside football, has nothing to do with the improvement inside the club with fans demanding necessary actions to take the club back to its glory days.
With their recent victory against rivals Manchester City, Michael Carrick promises a positive perspective, at least until the end of the season, but would he continue as the manager of the club beyond it, the answer is in waiting..
