Apparently there is a rumor of CR7 movie set for a 2028 release, with Timothee Chalamet playing Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrew Garfield as Lionel Messi, Ana de Armas as Georgina Rodriguez, and Michael Mann is directing this movie.
Rumor started when an X user shared a screenshot of Letterboxd page that appeared to be a fully formed movie listing for a film titled Ronaldo, along with mention of Actors and Directors.

According to fans, the casting looked unrealistic, because of physical differences. One fan was more blunt about it: “This is proper fan casting and no way they casted a short actor for Ronaldo compared to Messi.”
Ronaldo is 6ft 1in tall. Casting Chalamet who is 5 feet 10 inches (178 cm) is not big difference, Hollywood’s resident lanky-but-not-that-tall leading man, next to Garfield who is 5ft 10.5in playing the significantly shorter Messi who is 5ft 6.5in, doesn’t seem like for like casting.

In the thread one fan made a AI poster for the movie, with Andrew Garfield in Barcelona shirt, Timothee Chalamet in a white Real Madrid number 7 kit, with number on front of shirt and Ana de Armas in the back. He quoted that with “NGL i see the vision”, using sarcasm.

Is the rumor real?
We currently checked on the site to make sure if there’s any Ronaldo movie on the way, but his was simply a fake Letterboxd page. The page was eventually taken down from the official Letterboxd website. as conformed by website.
How Letterboxd works
Letterboxd is sort of social media built for movie lovers. It was founded in 2011, it works as a personal film diary and discovery platform where users can log films they’ve watched, write reviews, rate movies, create lists, and follow other cinephiles.
This has become a favourite destinations for cinephiles. Since there has been accusations of fake ratings on other platforms.
The platform has grown into one of the most influential film communities on the internet, with millions of members, from casual viewers to critics all on one platform.
Can anyone post fake movie info on Letterboxd?
So here is this story gets interesting, because Letterboxd is a community driven platform.
To add a movie to Letterboxd, you must first ensure it has been entered on The Movie Database (TMDB), as Letterboxd imports its data directly from that platform. You need to create a free TMDB account, then use the Add New Movie tool to add necessary details such as the title, some details about movie, director, and a poster.
Once the entry is live on TMDB, it will sync it to Letterboxd automatically within 30 hours. However, you can bypass this wait by copying the TMDB ID from the movie’s URL and by going to letterboxd.com/tmdb/[ID] in your browser, which adds your movie into Letterboxd, making it a movie page.
Have there been fake movie rumors originated in Letterboxd before
There has been some instances of fake movies being added onto the platform. Not just film there has been incidents of fake reviews on name of actors were added, what later turned out to be fake.
For movies one of the most significant incidents involved Zepotha, a fake 1980s horror movie created as a TikTok prank that saw thousands of users logging reviews and creating fake story for a film that never existed.
Similarly, the Tumblr-born Goncharov (1973)—a fake Scorsese movie that made onto the platform through user lists and reviews.

Due to its being community based platform there will be instances like this. In the future too, good thing is this that platform’s moderators are aware of situations like this.
So to answer the question, No there isn’t any Ronaldo biopic movie in the pipeline. There have been many documentaries and movies made on Cristiano Ronaldo.
The kind of following Ronaldo has, if there is any possibility of a movie to be made, it will be a blockbuster movie in all sense. But currently there is no plan for that in the near future.
