Look: Mohammed Kudus Goes from Clean-Cut to Dreadlocks in Just Two Weeks

Mohammed Kudus has taken the Premier League by storm in his debut season for West Ham United. The Ghana winger has been a breath of fresh air for the Hammers and created a formidable frontline with Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta.

In just 35 appearances so far, he has already scored 12 goals and provided five assists for the Irons. That includes 12 goal contributions (seven goals, five assists) in 25 Premier League games.

Kudus was also involved in West Ham’s embarassing 4-3 loss to Newcastle United over the weekend.

Thought it was not just the full time scoreline that shocked many but also Kudus’ appearance during the game.

That is because the 24-year-old appears to have a head full of braided, lengthy hair similar to how ex-Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin used to like it.

The only difference is that Kudus showed no signs of having such a lengthy hairstyle or such luscious hair in the recent past.

Some pictures from just before the March international break showed him having a very simple appearance with a basic round cut.

But then suddenly out of nowhere, he was able to show off such lengthy and well-endowed braids atop his head after his return to action for the Gunners.

This has caused some debate over exactly how he was able to procure this hairstyle in just two weeks. A logical explanation that seems to being accepted is that he is using the help of hair extensions or in his case, ‘fake dreads’.

A hair extension is described as “a long piece of hair that is added to a person’s own hair to make the hair longer’. It is used all over the world, especially by celebrities and models who want their hair to be even lengthier and more beautiful than what their original form allows.

On a closer look, it looks like Kudus has indeed taken help from hair extensions to bring this braid-affect on his hairstyle.

Hair extensions are available quite readily all over the UK, as well as in London too. Link Hair London, a platform that helps provide such services, claims that human hair extensions can cost from the range of £100 to £600.

This also includes braided hair, although one has to get their barber to put these extensions on top of their hair for it to have the desired effect.

Considering that Kudus is rumoured to earn a £90,000-a-week salary at West Ham, it’ll cost him a tiny amount of that to get the necessary hair extensions.

To his credit, Kudus has been able to pull off this new look rather well. Be it hair extensions or not, the new braided hairstyle looks good on him and is probably something he can stick to until the end of the season.
