The festival of Halloween was celebrated by many across the world, and the football players from various clubs were no different.
The Manchester City players, between their 3-1 Carabao Cup victory against Swansea City in the midweek and the visit of Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this weekend, had some time off from their busy and packed playing schedule, which they utilised to spend Halloween with their families, partners and friends.
The Norwegian Viking Erling Haaland dressed up as DC’s iconic villain, ‘The Joker’, and went undercover on the streets of Manchester to surprise and scare the fans, along with his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen, who was dressed up as Catwoman.

As he gives it his all on the pitch for the Cityzens, Haaland went all in to disguise himself as the iconic character. Just like the original, Haaland had green hair, white make-up and that famous red smile across his lips. His costume was also on point with that instantly recognisable purple jacket and green shirt.
One fan instantly recognised the city star by saying, “Are you the Man City boy?”, to which the Norwegian star was surprised and exclaimed, “How did you recognise me !!”.

It was not just trick or treat on the streets of Manchester for Haaland. He was on daddy duties as well. Haaland, with his partner, in their costumes, went to a shop to buy diapers, but had to go to a couple of more shops to finally get them as he and his girlfriend Johansen had a baby boy together last year.
However, it was not just Haaland who was dressed up as the iconic ‘Joker’ for Halloween. A couple of other Man City players joined the bandwagon. John Stones, the city defender, also turned up as the villain ‘Joker’ for Halloween.
It can be said that being the ‘Joker’ character for Halloween was the central theme for Manchester City players.
It was not only Haaland and Stones but the Dutch international Tijjani Reijnders, who joined Man City this summer from AC Milan, also donned the famous ‘Joker’ outfit.

Along with this trio, City’s Brazilian winger Savinho, not exactly as the Joker, dressed up as a clown for Halloween.

After all the Halloween festivities, the Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, being the perfectionist that he is, would want his players to focus on the upcoming fixtures as the season moves into a packed schedule with top clubs playing almost every three days.
Manchester City sit fifth in the Premier League with 16 points after their last defeat in the league away to Aston Villa, and will face the impressive Bournemouth next in the league, who, to the surprise of many, are 2nd on the table and are playing some attractive football under their Spanish manager Andoni Iraola.
