Don’t Come to My House: Federico Chiesa Goes Full Italian During Sky Sports Interview

Federico Chiesa, Italy National Football Team, Liverpool

Federico Chiesa was once seen as the crown jewel of a dominant Juventus side. He was the talk of the town, the most dynamic player, and the player who made the difference for Juventus and Italy.

Since he joined Liverpool, nothing has gone right for him. Inconsistent game time, constant injuries, struggles with form, and now even his interviews are going as badly as his on-field performances.

Or are they?

Chiesa giving brutally honest answers in an interview

In a recent interview for Sky Sports YouTube, Chiesa was asked the internet’s most asked questions by Adam Smith, and he answered in the most brutally Italian way possible.

Chiesa was asked a question that is sacrilegious to most Italians: Is pineapple on pizza acceptable? To which the Italian nonchalantly answered, “I don’t care”.

Next up, he was asked if it was okay to have a cappuccino after 12 o’clock. Yet again, Chiesa answered “I don’t care”.

When asked what would be his signature dish if the interviewer visited Chiesa’s house, the Italian simply said, “Don’t come to my house”.

On paper, these answers make Chiesa look extremely rude, while some also criticized the interviewer for asking such dumb questions.

In reality, the video shows how funny and jovial Chiesa was throughout the questions. His friendly and funny answers involved the message of telling people to do whatever they like and not be dictated by norms.

Moreover, his answer about not coming to his house was actually him making a self-deprecating joke because he isn’t good at cooking. He also had a surprising answer for his favorite meal… scrambled eggs.

Chiesa left Juventus to join Liverpool in 2024 for a £12.5 million but his time at Merseyside has been riddled with constant injuries, limited gametime, and inconsistent form.

According to StatMuse, the Italian has only managed 14 appearances in 2 seasons with a total gametime of 221 minutes. This means he gets an average gametime of around 15 minutes per league appearance.

With an output of 2 goals and 1 assist in his two Premier League seasons so far, Liverpool fans expect more from the tricky winger.

This season has seen a slight upturn in Chiesa’s form, as, despite his limited gametime, Chiesa has been efficient at making the most of his time. Against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, he provided two assists before going on to score a late goal against Crystal Palace in the league.

His impressive cameo appearances helped him win the fan-voted Liverpool Player of the Month award for September despite playing just 124 out of the possible 540 minutes.

Chiesa’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as Gattuso, the Italian National Team manager, picked him for the November International Friendlies. However, much to the ire of Italian fans, Chiesa will not be available.

Despite being fit, Chiesa has refused callups for the Italian National Team as he wants to stay back and keep himself fit to play for Liverpool.
