Chelsea’s new ‘manager’, Liam Rosenior is acting way more than a football coach.
Safe to say, he is the “active” boss on the pitch with multiple responsibilities at hand for him.
Rosenior is paying the price for sounding a bit crazy by introducing an illogical abbreviation for the word ‘manage’, during his time as the manager of Strasbourg.
The video has come into the light as he is now the manager of Chelsea FC, a club with massive media exposure.
Trolls have piled up in numbers with the trend seemed to have reached the peak and might continue to be a topic of concern even within the dressing room of Chelsea.
Liam Rosenior was appointed as the manager of Chelsea, early in January after the unexpected departure of Enzo Maresca.
The Englishman was in charge of the French club Strasbourg FC before Chelsea made the big move. Since both the clubs are under the ownership of BlueCo, the process was simple and predicted.
But for an introduction, Chelsea fans had to go through one of his old videos, explaining his management philosophy at Strasbourg.
Rosenior, explains that he is not just a coach but a Manager, who needs to maintain a culture among the players, apart from technique and tactics.
He then provides an explanation for the word “manage” in English, which he says when split sounds as “man” and “age”. The full phrase goes like-
“In English, ‘manage’, if you split the two words is ‘man’ and ‘age’, so ‘you’re ‘ageing men’,

This was never in the books of Chelsea fans and Rosenior has become the victim of a united culmination of trolls, labelling him more specialized to be a corporate manager than a football coach.
This is, without exception, the worst thing I’ve ever heard pic.twitter.com/eNWOvvFwVd

Rosenior reeks of those “here is what Declan Rice’s performance for Arsenal last night can teach us about B2B sales” blokes you see on LinkedIn. https://t.co/63bq59HqJc

I’d say I’m a friend first, boss second, probably an entertainer third https://t.co/PmLr2nuJT1

The phrase sounded so cringe and had fans wondering what did he mean by the “aging men” phrase as it made no sense in whatever context.
It gave fans a real life resemblance of “David Brent”, a fictional character from the famous sitcom, “THE OFFICE”. Brent is a general manager in the series who is hypocritic, self delusional, nitpicking and preaches excuses in times of critics.
Rosenior’s quote was seen as something that David Brent would have made as a self promotion for himself.

Someone should tell Rosenior to be himself

There is a clear imposter syndrome going on. I know sometimes you have to manifest what you want to be.
We can see through him so clearly
Liam Rosenior, Be Yourself and let your light shine through. You don't have to act tough.
I cannot unsee this now ffs. 😂🫣 pic.twitter.com/JLx8FVbW5y

Once the memes like this are floating about, it feels like a difficult cycle to break free from.

Football in the era of social media is brutal. 😂 https://t.co/ciFzOajwsz
Rosenior has just been at charge of Chelsea and had a positive start, winning their FA Cup third round against Charlton Athletic with a 5-1 scoreline. Soon after, he had to face the current Premier League leaders and City rivals, Arsenal in the EFL cup semi finals, where Chelsea lost the first leg 2-3.
As the memes and trolls have become widespread, it is very important for Rosenior to prove his worth by showing results to walk his talk.
