Max Dowman has gone from Arsenal’s academy to a global Adidas campaign, and people are paying attention.
The 16-year-old is starring alongside Arsenal legend Ian Wright in a brand new commercial. For a teenager still in school, it is a pretty remarkable place to be.
The ad is set in a fun classroom scenario called “Mr Wright’s School of Excellence.” Wright plays the wise teacher figure, with Dowman sitting across from him as the gifted young student.
Wright makes his case for the Adidas Predator boot, pushing control and precision as the smart choice.
Dowman hears him out, then ignores all of it and shows off the F50 instead.

There is also a brilliant Easter egg for Arsenal fans hidden in the background. The code on the vending machine the Dowman is seen using reads 1886, the year Arsenal Football Club was founded. It is a small detail but a really lovely touch.
This is not just a fun ad. It is actually a smart piece of modern football business. Arsenal secured Dowman on a pre-contract agreement in January 2026, ahead of him turning 17.
The problem is that Premier League rules put a cap on how much a club can pay a player of his age. It does not matter how good he is, the rules are the rules.
So Arsenal had to find another way to reward him on top of his wages. A big Adidas sponsorship deal, backed by the club, does exactly that. This is just how modern football works now.
Fans have genuinely loved seeing this –
@sellorm – Adidas adverts in year 11. Fairs
@Pinero_Nana – Some of us were selling donuts on the playground at that age
@WarraWorld – He’s actually a superstar in the making
@MadtingLuke – he’s going to the moon, next franchise after Saka passes the torch
@studiopixie – Getting them young 😭
@Coster_Rama2 – Messi regen. He is the chosen one!❤️
@shaycity_ – hale end motion is gonna be serious if he pans out as well as ethan and mls. maybe we can actually sell our products for profit for once
@atyget – Now he’s 16 the PR is gonna go crazy
@nnchlantarteta – people blame arteta a lot but wont credit him when he does good things for our youth and max dowman is the future.
@midzthefirst – too sad that saka is basically a side man at new balance
@afcamir11 – Adidas advert before getting a national insurance number. We have a generational talent on our hands.
The real question is how good is he at staying wide so the fullback can attack the half spaces.
Could he become the new face of Adidas alongside Yamal? It might be a crazy idea as Yamal has became a force for Adidas now after winning the Euros.
Dowman is on a similar kind of trajectory right now, breaking records and turning heads across Europe. If he keeps developing the way he has been, that conversation is only going to get louder. The classroom ad might just be the start of something much bigger.
