Dele Alli is training at Tottenham’s Hotspur Way facility as the 29 YO seeks a new club and a fresh chapter in his career.
Make note that Alli will be working under a personal coach in individual sessions rather than alongside the first-team squad.
Dele has been a free agent since leaving Serie A side Como in September, and has not played a competitive game since March last year, when he was sent off just nine minutes into a match against AC Milan.
He returned to Spurs for the North London Derby earlier in February as a special guest.
Alli at Spurs was one of the most electric attacking midfielders in the country during the 15/16, 16/17 and 17/18 seasons.
Dele scored 67 goals and provided 59 assists in 269 appearances across six-and-a-half seasons at Spurs, winning two PFA Young Player of the Year awards and earning 37 England caps.
The club he left behind, however, is in crisis.
Tottenham are on a 10-match winless Premier League run and sit four points above the relegation zone under interim manager Igor Tudor.
Key attacking midfielders James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are sidelined with long-term injuries, leaving Xavi Simons, Conor Gallagher and Pape Matar Sarr to fill the creative void in Dele’s old position.

Dele Alli at half-time on the pitch, North London Derby (22 Feb 2026) –
“I think the only word I can use is emotional. It’s been a while, and I hope you guys missed me just as much as I missed you.”
“I hope you’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed you. A lot has happened in our journeys since we were last together but I’m back today and I hope you know that you’ll always be my family.”
“There are no words to describe how you guys make me feel. No matter where I am in the world, you always show me incredible love and support. In every continent of the world, wherever I’ve been, if I meet a Tottenham fan, it’s always love. I just want you to know that I love you guys just as much as you love me. Hopefully, my entertainment on the pitch was good, and you could see the fight and passion that I have. I can’t wait to be back out on the pitch playing, hopefully it’s not too long now.”
“We were a family. We felt like we gave it everything, and the fans really pushed us on and helped us to win each game. It happened over and over again. It was a very special team. I met some people that I’ll call friends and family for life, from the players to the staff, to even some of the fans. It was very special.”

@Mastrigt_
I’d take him back. He might not be good enough, but we need bodies, and he’d help lift the atmosphere. He’d also remind the players what a privilege it is to play for Tottenham Hotspur.
@BCOL21
A crowd behind him for a handful of games would inject some energy and vigour into the team & hopefully pull a couple of performances out of him.
@darcher1977
Pay as you play deal even if he didn’t play, he would bring something back to the dressing room.
@aaron8484884712
Would lift the whole club. Even if he’s likely nowhere near previous level.
@HotspurThought
I was thinking the same. Could be great for all the academy boys on the bench bc of the injuries we have.
@thfcjack05
We need bodies and people that have hunger. If he’s really being honest about setting alarms for goals he’s set, he’d show more than most of the current players.
@mephhhs
He should be playing with the youth team? Like how Rose did at some point. Would be great experience for the kids as well.
@alexmcoyss
Even if it’s not as a player, I think he could be an asset to have behind the scenes. His personal struggles could really help give insight and support and mould the youngsters. MH is important in football given the amount of criticism you’re put under. Proper Tottenham too.
@AphexTriplets
Get him in on the bench, then 10min left put him on…just for the chant! 100% worth it!
@THFCMarcelo
I’ve said a lot against Dele, but fucking hell even at his lowest he never disrespected the badge like these prats. We definitely need a figure who understands Spurs for sure, and he gets it.
