The Reds are going through a transition period at Anfield following the departure of legendary head coach Jurgen Klopp.

Dutch manager Arne Slot was appointed to take over from Klopp, and he did win the Premier League in his first season at the club.

However, in his second season, Slot failed to live up to expectations and was ultimately sacked, with former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola replacing him.

Several senior players such as Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, Andrew Robertson, and more left during the summer transfer window.

And new manager Iraola has been trying to recruit the right players to take Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League.

Alisson Becker, who is also a senior player at the club, could leave, and he has entered the final year of his contract with the Reds.

The Brazilian international has been a remarkable presence between the sticks for Liverpool, and has helped the club win several trophies, including the UEFA Champions League.

But his future at the club looks uncertain, as contract negotiations have stalled, and last summer he came close to joining Italian giants Juventus.

Juventus were unable to agree on a transfer fee with Liverpool, and then decided to sign Tottenham Hotspur custodian Guillermo Vicario, while Alisson stayed put at Anfield.

Now, Liverpool have set their sights on fellow Premier League side Hull City’s goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

Hull City signed Tzolakis from Greek outfit Olympiacos for around £20M last summer after their promotion to the Premier League.

The Greek international has put in strong displays for the Tigers, and he has also kept three clean sheets so far this season in the league.

Tzolakis, who is just 23, could be the long-term solution for Liverpool, as he his currently one of the consistent performers in the Premier League.

He has good shot-stopping ability, spatial awareness, passing vision, and he is also quick off his line to help out his defence during counterattacks.

Last season, Alisson endured a disruptive season due to several injuries, and young shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili was tasked with playing between the sticks several times during the course of the season.

Mamardashvili has not been able to impress in the limited time he has had at Liverpool, and since the appointment of Iraola, he has been stuck on the bench.

The 26-year-old has received criticism for his poor ball distribution, and he has struggled to bail out his teammates when under pressure from the opposition.

At Liverpool, Iraola deploys a 4-2-3-1 formation, which is built on a counter-attacking system, with the full-backs getting higher up the pitch to support the attack.

Besides that, short passes in and around the box are played to draw in opposition, and then fluid transitions to attack with high balls over the backline.

Tzolakis has the qualities to become an even better ball-playing goalkeeper, with good distribution, passing range, and an overall confidence with the ball at his feet.

It is unclear whether Hull City will let him leave after signing him just a few months ago on a five-year deal, but things could change if they are relegated this season.
