Man Utd fans not happy with Paul Scholes after latest IG post appears to take shots at new boy Odion Ighalo

Manchester United

Manchester United made a shock deadline day move as they opted to acquire the services of Odion Ighalo, on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

The Nigerian international is supposed to be the solution to the Red Devils’ attacking equation as Marcus Rashford is forced to serve a long spell out of action after suffering a serious injury.

In the thick of optimistic fans and the hopeful United boss, former legend Paul Scholes aimed a sly dig at the new acquisition.

A recent post on Schole’s Instagram handle has United fans provoked.

The Englishman can be seen posing with a fellow retired professional Dwight Yorke, who himself served Manchester United in the Premier League as a forward for a spell ranging from 1998 to 2002, both of whom Ighalo named as his idols growing up.

The post is being identified as a jibe at either United’s new loanee, Odion Ighalo or towards the weak performances of Anthony Martial, who failed to find the back of the net since January.

This interpretation of the caption is only supported by Patrice Evra’s comment following the post.

Either way, Manchester United fans are left infuriated by Scholes’ cryptic Instagram post.
