38-years-old and Jermain Defoe has still got it

38-years-old and Jermain Defoe has still got it

Rangers went six points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership table with a 2-0 win over Livingston earlier today.

Jermain Defoe scored his 300th club career goal in what was a really comfortable victory for Steven Gerrard’s side.

It is now 7 wins in a row for the Glasgow side, accompanied by some very good football in the process.

Case in point this absolute poetry from Rangers to score their second goal against Livingston.

James Tavernier, who is in the form of his life, sent a gorgeous penetrating ball through the Livingston defence to find Defoe.

The 38-year-old striker had moved in the middle of the 3 center-backs and then proceeded to score one of the best goals you’ll see this season.

In an interview back in 2016, Defoe had said that he always tries to shoot it first time because the keeper is never expecting it and here he is, years later, doing what he preached.

Jermain Defoe should always be remembered as one of the most underrated players to have ever played in the Premier league

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward never really got a fair crack as first choice in the national team (England) but has always been one of Premier League’s best poachers.
