journo labels Pickford's challenge on Van Dijk as an 'assault'

Who would have thought that Jordan Pickford’s mis-timed challenge that prematurely ended Virgil van Dijk’s season would still be a talking point among the masses 52 days after the incident took place in a hotly contested Merseyside Derby.

As it turns out, it still remains a hot topic and it’s the Everton fans who are now fuming at how a journo classed the tackle as an ‘assault’ on the Liverpool defender in an article on Daily Mirror.

The Toffees faithful are up in arms against Neil McLeman for how he described Pickford’s challenge in his article on Southampton’s 2-1 victory against Brighton last night.
