Who’s better, Thiago Alcantara or Paul Pogba? – Man Utd fans have had their say

Liverpool have experienced a woeful run of form of late, as their 1-0 home loss to Burnley in their last league game meant that they now have won only one out of their last six outings in the league.

The defending champions of England are now down to fourth on the Premier League points tally, six points behind league leaders Manchester United who have capitalized on their rivals’ recent slip up.

While Liverpool’s woes have coincided with the returning Thiago Alcantara’s patchy form, Man Utd have been boosted by Paul Pogba’s return to form as the Frenchman now has scored two goals in his last three games.

United emerged victorious in their last league outing: a 2-1 win, coming back from behind against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Paul Pogba scored the eventual winner for Man Utd, as the club’s following on Twitter sparked an online debate about who is the superior footballer between Pogba and Thiago Alcantara.

Out of the many tweets in the discussion, a certain fan voiced his opinion of the ex-Bayern Munich man having no unique attribute that he does not share with Pogba.

Another commented that while it is okay to think Kevin de Bruyne is better than Pogba or vice versa: it is not okay to think that Thiago is better than Pogba.

Thiago has not been in the best of form after recently returning from a knee injury, as he started in Liverpool’s league losses to Southampton and Burnley, either side of a goal less draw with Manchester United.

Pogba, on the other hand, is slowly finding his form after an underwhelming start to the season as he has contributed to his team’s cause with two match winners this month.

Both players will look to settle the debate when Liverpool and Man Utd go head to head with each other in Sunday’s meeting in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
