Football fans took to Twitter en masse after noticing Martin Tyler’s weird obsession with calling Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe the “Croydon De Bruyne” during the Gunners’ 3-3 draw against West Ham United.

It is a credit to the Croydon-born midfielder that he is being likened to the Man City playmaker by fans and teammates alike at such an early age.

Though, nobody anticipated the absolute barrage on display from the veteran commentator as Martin Tyler was heard countlessly referring to Smith Rowe by his moniker when he came on a second-half substitute during the thrilling encounter at London Stadium tonight.

Of course, this is not the first time Martin Tyler has managed to rustle football fans this season as the Sky Sports commentator went viral for all the wrong reasons when he made a godawful pun during the Manchester derby in December.
