Bruno Fernandes was lambasted online after the Man United midfielder made an absolute meal of the slightest of touches from Etienne Capoue during the Europa League final against Villarreal.
The Frenchman was already on a yellow and could have been sent off had the referee completely bought into the theatrics from the Portuguese.
As it turned out, the referee only awarded a free kick to United and Capoue went on to become a thorn for the Red Devils as he kept the creative duo of Bruno and Pogba in check throughout the 90 minutes and then extra time.
Football fans slammed Bruno for what appears to be a blatant dive as Villarreal went on to win the final at Gdansk after a remarkable penalty shootout.
