Watch: PSG players left flattened by gruelling pre-season regime

It is one of the best times to be a Paris Saint-Germain supporter as the club has brought in immense reinforcement this summer to try and mount a proper challenge for their elusive first UEFA Champions League title.

Big names like Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Gini Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi have lit up the French capital as of now, but the season ahead is about to be a gruelling one – and so it only makes sense that so is the pre-season leading up to it.

And so it seemed, as footage from their pre-season regime surfaced on social media platforms. Mauricio Pochettino’s side turned on the heat in pre-season training as seen from the footage, as the players looked visibly exhausted with the work that they were told to put in.

Tireless names such as Idrissa Gana Gueye were seen to flop to the ground after an intense running drill, while Achraf Hakimi – no stranger to the heat being a Moroccan international – was also visibly tired courtesy of the running drills put in place for the Parisian team to get them back to full fitness.

Gueye and Hakimi were not the only names to be flattened by the gruelling pre-season regime as seen from the footage, as there were a lot of others as well who were visibly struggling to catch their breath amidst the routine – one of them being seasoned superstar Rafinha Alcántara.

The climb back to optimal fitness after the long season that was is a tough one, and the PSG players looked to be up to the challenge – even with the knackered scenes at their training facility in Paris.

PSG fans will hope that the pre-season routine helps the players to be ready for the season coming up, as they look to clinch the one title that has been evading them for a number of years.
