It was a pulsating atmosphere inside Celtic Park as the home side won 2-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off against AZ Alkmaar.
With 12 minutes gone, new signing Kyogo Furuhashi found the back of the net once again with an acrobatic effort after Tom Rogic had crossed a beauty in the box from the left flank.
The Bhoys celebrated their fifth win in a row as James Forrest scored the second goal of the night just after the hour mark to put Celtic in a strong position going into the tie.
The Japanese forward has taken next to no time in settling down with the Glasgow-based side as this was his 6th goal in as many games for the Hoops.

Baffling that Kyogo was still playing in Japan at 26, and that no club in Europe had taken a punt on him. I’m so glad they didn’t.— Chairman Lmao ☭ (@BenTheTim) August 18, 2021

Eddie Howe in the mud
Imagine how shite life would be if we got Eddie Howe and didn’t sign Kyogo— An Overweight Tam Rogic 🇮🇪 (@fatwolverine67) August 18, 2021
Henrik comparisons abound
The kind of player we have missed at Celtic since Larsson but it is still early days, how he reacts to a more psychical game will show his worth.— Sid (@SidCunn) August 18, 2021
I can’t think of any new signing that I would rate higher. Even our king of kings Henrik Larsson in his first season didn’t look as good as this new bhoy ❤️— Bhoy.In.SanFrancisco🍀 (@Bhoy_in_LA) August 18, 2021
Kyogo before family

“He absolutely has the talent to play in Europe. He’s got strong technique, and I believe he can succeed.” The words of no less an authority than Andres Iniesta, the legendary ex-Barcelona midfielder who played alongside Furuhashi at Vissel Kobe. pic.twitter.com/H5ifPIv8ze
