Mohamed Salah rocks retro Liverpool kit for GQ photoshoot – and Twitter loved it

Yesterday, men’s magazine GQ Sports unveiled the cover star for the February issue.

It was none other than Liverpool forward Mo Salah.

The trailblazing Egyptian is certainly very adept at his trade, but upon taking a glance at the results of his photoshoot, it’s safe to say that Salah has the potential to become a fashion icon.

In images that have been released alongside snippets of the interview, the forward can be sporting retro looks alongside some very extravagant designerwear.

The looks are a sight to behold and Salah pulls them off effortlessly, fans online thought so too.

The pick of the lot was the Egyptian posing in a 1993/95 Liverpool home kit from Adidas.

The kit is a throwback to a time when the Premier league was still in its infancy.

Featuring a three-striped design running inward from both sides of the shirt, the kit also displays the old Adidas Equipment logo.

An older incarnation of the Liverpool logo can also be spotted, 1993 marks the first season in which the ‘eternal flames’ were added to the club crest.

Topping off a dose of nostalgia for the Reds is the Carlsberg logo, a logo that has featured on many iconic Liverpool kits, including the one Reds wore for the memorable 2005 Champions League triumph.

Needless to say, fans were smitten by the snap –

Adding finishing touches to all of the looks Salah donned were some Adidas Originals gear.

Aside from the sportswear brand, the Egyptian also wore Louis Vuttion, Gucci, and Hermes.

The magazine feature stands as evidence of Mo Salah’s popularity, one that transcends the footballing world.

Footwear wasn’t overlooked either and the retro look in particular features a really eye-catching pair.

The mossy green sneakers are called ‘Adidas Gazelle’, a reincarnation of a sneaker from the ’60s and they are actually training shoes.

Except for the extravagant looks and retro touches, the photoshoot also features Salah’s charming smile, one that could light up anyone’s day.

The interview itself can offer the same effect as it gives fans a much more candid look into the Egyptians’ life and is certainly one Reds fans will cherish.
