Wholesome: Carlo Ancelotti gives Luka Modric hard time for missing passes

Real Madrid lifted the Supercopa after a commanding 2-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao.

A dominant performance saw them lift the cup in Riyadh for the 2nd time in 3 years.

The standout performer for Los Blancos was undoubtedly midfield maestro Luka Modric.

Aside from an excellent display in the middle of the park, the Croatian also grabbed a goal, he executed a wonderful first touch strike that curled past Unai Simon.

Modric was deservingly adjudged the man of the match, a decision with which many were in agreement.

However, Modric did have one very significant naysayer, namely his gaffer Carlo Ancelotti.

In a clip doing the rounds on the internet, Modric can be seen walking off the podium, MOTM trophy in hand.

His jovial jog back towards his teammates is interrupted by the Italian manager, who jokingly reminded him of a few misplaced passes.

The 36-year-old quickly stated in his defence that there were only 3 misplaced passes.

The pair continued to laugh it out before embracing, concluding a wholesome moment.

The Supercopa is a wonderful highlight for Ancelotti’s second stint at the Bernabeu, his side will now look towards building upon their lead atop the La Liga table.
